My future self is a happy grandmother. I live in Southern California in a house near the ocean. I go for walks everyday and golf with my husband. I have been fortunate enough to be able to keep my hair long and I still keep it braided, yet messy. Just like my grandmother, I am still skinny in old age and am able to do all my own yard work, have a large garden and keep up with my grand kids. I am healthy and independent and enjoy spending time with my three wiener dogs, reading, painting and going for brunch with my friends. Every night I watch the sun set then read until I go to bed. |

1. I think that for all of the photos except for the portrait of a girl, all of the pictures are just pulled from the artist's head without an actual reference. I think that in their mind they created the lighting because all of them do have lighting.
2. No, I do not think that photography is like painting, with painting there are so many technical and control aspects to create a good piece that looks realistic. With photography the photographer is simply creating a balanced scene and making it interactive. (the first step of photography basically. 3. The hardest recreation was The Head of a Nymph, just because it had the tool in specific spots and the lighing was really weird. It was also hard to get Sara at the right angle with the tool still looking right. 4. The easiest recreation was the Portrait of a girl because the hat was relatively easy to make and Abby was really easy to work with. 5. I did not change my mind for any of the pictures. I probably should have switched the Head of a Nymph one just because of the complications I had with it. 6. The Little School Girl was my favorite one to recreate, mostly because it was one of the first pictures I took so it was really fun and all the props worked really good. I was also really happy working with Abby again. 7. My confidence has slightly risen since working on this project. I feel like working with lighting and with the camera has gotten a lot easier but working with some of the models was challenging. 8. My strongest piece was definitely The Little School, the lighting is the best and the pose is the best with the props and everything. The worst picture was the Head of a Nymph, the tool did not work, it was too dark and the pose was wrong. It just was a bust. 9. I tried to push my abilities, working with different lighting and different poses. I also wanted to use fun props and I feel like I did well with creating a variety of different pictures with different subject matter. My name is Maggie, for my project I did a picture of my boyfriend playing video games. I chose this picture because it was not just a regular portrait, it had a lot of different interest points on it. I started off with the green of his face. I chose green because his face already had a green tint to it because of the TV screen, and my favorite color is green. His hair is analogous to the green and I thought it would just be a cool contrast to the green. I added split complementary to the green by using an orange background and also by adding purple in the facial hair. For every color I did analogous tones to add depth and shadows to each shape in the photo. I originally started off doing extremely small shapes (on his nose and forehead, but I did not have enough time to finish the project so I started making larger shapes. I really was just making non square/rectangular objects. That was my only goal was to do uneven shapes. For the hair and beard, I wanted contrast so I did the long zigzags in the hair and swirls in the beard. To get the final image I decided on a dark grey background. I really like this because it allows both the light colors and dark colors to pop without getting muddled by the background.
Combined:Maggie (body), Abby(nose), Chris(eyes), Ana B(Mouth), Someone’s Drew? eyebrows and Aron(chin)
1) For my frozen motion pictures, I took them of my dog. My brother was playing with her, throwing a tennis ball, chasing her and just running around the yard. I stood in the middle of it all and took pictures. My ISO was at 1600, my shutter speed was at 1/2500 and the F-stop was at 5.6. 2) For my long exposure movement, I had my brother do three different types of movement. It was pretty hard to do because it was so light out that the it was very over exposed. For all of them it was hard to keep my hand steady enough to get a good picture. The bike picture turned out the best because he was very stationary on the bike, where he was very bouncy and was moving in motions other than straight. For these I had an IOS of 100, my shutter speed was at 1/2 and the F-stop was at 29. 3) The long exposure light was done in the art closet so they were extra dark. The top circle one is of fairy lights that we twirled in a circle. The colorful picture is of multicolored Christmas light picture was made by waving the string of lights up and down. The last picture was of a smiley face, this was created with a flash light. I held the eyes in one spot for a second, then turned the light off, moved it to the other spot for a second, then turned the light of and drew the mouth. IOS at 100, my shutter speed was at 10 sec, and the F-stop was at 22.
I enjoyed doing this project, I didn't think it was too hard except it was hard to do something going in front or behind something moving. It was impossible to do some of the ideas we had, just because the moving part was over or under the still part. It was a fun intro to the gifs though.
